The Hoy No Circula Program is a measure implemented to prevent, minimize, and control the emission of pollutants in the Megalopolis, Mexico City, and the State of Mexico. This initiative aims to standardize and reduce the impact of vehicle circulation in the area by restricting the traffic of private vehicles regardless of the origin of their plates.
This Friday, vehicles with blue stickers, license plates ending in 9 and 0, as well as verification holograms 1 and 2, will not be allowed to circulate. On the other hand, vehicles with holograms 0 and 00, electric and hybrid vehicles, vehicles driven by healthcare personnel, motorcycles, and cars with disabled plates can circulate without restrictions.
The Hoy No Circula schedule is from 05:00 to 22:00 hours, and non-compliance with these rules may result in fines ranging from 2,075 pesos to 3,112 pesos. It is important to note that on Sundays, the Hoy No Circula does not apply to any vehicle, making this day exempt from any type of restriction.
It is important to point out that the only exception to this rule is when the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis determines the suspension of the program or the implementation of a double Hoy No Circula.
